What does it Take to Write?

Writers need to know how to put thoughts into printed text in the form of pictures, words, and sentences. Writers need to know how to encode in a meaningful and decodable manner. 

Writers need to know the essential components of narrative, informative, and opinion writing. They also need to know about the content/topic on which they are writing, as appropriate. 

Writers need to access genre-specific graphic organizers that allow them to plan their compositions prior to creating and curating the text. This may come in the form of a specific writing "program", but that is not an absolute.

Writers need to know how to gather information from a variety of sources to create unique text for a specified purpose. 

Writers need to use specific, targeted questions that help them curate AI-generated text that enhances and elaborates their original content. 

Writers need to determine the most relevant and effective way to present their written communication.
